Our Friend John Lasure Jr. - CSBA President Featured

John Lasure JrFor the past decade, John Lasure Jr. has been the President of the Eastern PA Chapter of the CSBA and for the last several years the President of the National Chapter of the CSBA.  Like many of us his roots with the organization began by simply attending some of the CSBA rides, but his strong foundation in Christianity and the love of motorcycles inspired him to become the man he is today.  His commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ boosted his desire to do more for the organization and before long he was promoted to the roles that he currently maintains.

John is one of the most selfless people you could meet, concerned about others well being and their prosperity more than his own.  He voluntary opens his home to host men’s bible studies, consoles members when they are ill or experiencing some type of misfortune, and shows an unwavering commitment to oversee the success of the Eastern PA Chapter of the CSBA to share the positive experiences that he has received while being a part of the organization.

In total, John has been with the organization for more than 17 years and he has shown his true devotion to the organization and the Lord during that time. His upbeat personality, fantastic communication skills, and networking abilities have allowed the Eastern PA Chapter to expand its reach that has taken the Lord's word to less common venues. He began by spreading the word at weekend bike gatherings and shows at motorcycle dealerships. Then in the spring of 2013 he started the "CSBA Day at the Races" track day events, which grew rapidly and led to additional membership within the CSBA, as well as some sponsorship from local, regional, and national companies. It also attracted the attention of the publishers at Sport Bikes, Inc. Magazine who conducted an interview with him about the CSBA and the CSBA Day @ the Races program. The article titled "Know Your Role: A Club of another Cloth" was featured in the December 2014 issue of the magazine and may be read online through the following link: Click to View Article.

Ride Report - CSBA Bux-Mont Rattlesnake Ride September 4, 2021

june1 intro

We give thanks to God for His wisdom and His Blessings….

On Saturday September 4th we had a ride. That morning started out cool with temperatures in the 50's. Most people started out with hoodies over their gear or liners in their jackets. We ate breakfast at 8am and came out to warmer temperatures and 15 riders waiting for us in the lot, ready to ride. We had our riders meeting at 9am and left at 9:10am. We saw a rider heading to the diner near the Wawa and tried to get her attention but she headed out away from us anyway. The ride went well with many old roads and some new. We had two crashes both minor with some light bike damage but no injuries and both bikes were rideable. As a reminder we wear gear on our rides, please don't show up only wearing a vest, or a hoodie, or sneakers I will send you home. The rules for the ride are on our site. Although we did see some storm damage and some washouts, most of the ride was clean. We had two detours due to road closure and we had to change our lunch stop due to storm damage. Speaking of storm damage we did see some amazing stuff due to Hurricane Ida. I wanted to thank all that came out and those that helped out others and helped with the ride.

Ride Report - CSBA Pocono Screamer Ride June 5, 2021

june1 intro

We give thanks to God for His wisdom and His Blessings….

The day was hot [94°], but the pace in Group One was even HOTTER! At least for the morning…. (more on that later)

The ideal conditions prevailed this Saturday: riders wanting and ready to get out and really enjoy the day, great turn out of 27 seasoned riders, and lastly the desire to enjoy the roads at pace. As we always proclaim, “All Bikes – All Beliefs” and today proved to be just that.

I had the privilege of cruising up to the rally point (Starlight Diner) with Bob G; we arrived by 7:50a and were greeted by Charlie N and Dave; a new friend invited out by B. Torri. Dave was running a Yamaha Star Cruiser bike, but was ready to get in some back roads with us, and we were glad to have him. Soon, more of the usual suspects (Allan C, Cory E, Greg K, Chris P, Jojo G, B Torri, Brendan and Jackie, & Youri M) started to show up, until all ride leaders (Mark H, Rick J, Rusty and myself) were all there. Some went in the diner to enjoy a little breakfast, while I stayed outside to continue greeting folks as they arrived – and did they arrive. We had some folks come out that we haven’t seen in a few years (Rudy along with some new faces (Lefteris & Harsha) along with the “Top Gun Jet Fighter Crew” which represents: (Jason V, Justin H, Corbin R & Samuel P), which of course ran in Group 1 with me, along with a new friend (Lefteris) on a brand new 2021 S1000RR, and Rudy B on his lovely Ducati as my sweeper.

Coming up right behind me was Rick J and his team and then Mark H, which later collapsed into Rick’s group, followed by Rusty. I know we had some others in the ranks including some new friends from RIP representing. I gave the ride meeting and set the agenda for the day, but I I failed to snap a group picture, but Bob did the bike count and confirmed we had 27 riders in attendance. I apologize up front if I missed anyone in the attendance line-up – but we thank you all for coming out and enjoying the roads with us this day.

We give thanks to God for His wisdom and His Blessings….

CSBA Breaking Break Luncheons are the best way to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. This month we chose the Red Cedar Grill and they treated us like royalty. The food was amazing and the company (as always) was simply the very best. Join us next month (in March) as we hit the pavement with our community service annual outreach project. As always, we give thanks for our CSBA Friends and Family for coming out and enjoying an afternoon with us.

For more great pictures and information on today’s event, visit the Facebook event page for our “February Breaking Bread” Luncheon here: [ www.facebook.com/events/2430037140580830/ ] or visit us on our website at www.pacsba.org.
